Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Denise and I offer a childminding service in Largs and surrounding areas. My service is registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care, in accordance with Section 9 of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001. I am also a member of the Scottish Childminding Association.
I am married with 2 children aged 12 and 7. My husband's name is Ian. He works during the week, sometimes from home. All members of my family over the age of 16 years have a Disclosure Scotland check and approval.
My Service
I am able to care for up to 6 children at any one time and my service is available for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years. All children and parents are invited into my home and made to feel very welcome. My childminding service operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday.
I can pick up and drop off children at your home if necessary and I am aslo able to pick up and drop off at some local schools. My car is fully insured for this purpose and I have a variety of child seats for all ages.
Breakfast, lunch and an evening meal can be provided for children as well as healthy snacks. Alternatively, you can provide your child with their own food which I can then prepare for them. Meals shall be varied and nutritious, catering for the preferences of both children and parents.
Activities
I have a vast range of resources, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure that children are fulfilled and stimulated. I have a wide range of toys, play equipment and outdoor equipment catering for all ages and educational needs. I am also a member of the North Ayrshire Toy Library. This allows me access to a wide range of resources, ensuring I have specific toys and equipment to meet each child's needs, interests and stages of development.
Other Services
Children are cared for in my home. I also regularly attend and help run the local parent/toddler groups with children. I visit local parks, soft play areas and places of interest. I am a member of the Largs Childminding Group which meets on a weekly basis with our minded children. At the Group the children have access to a wide variety of toys and activities together with the social enjoyment. The Childminding Group regularly organise day trips throughout the year. One of the favourites is the trip to Kelburn Country Park , Meeting the Rangers and animals. We also organise regular sponsored events with the children, raising money for various charities throughout the year.
Annual Care Commission Inspection
My service is regulated by the Care Commission. They undertake an annual inspection and grade my level of service. My last inspection was in June 2010. Based on the findings of the inspection my service was awarded the following grades:
